obviously we've got a chance and I'd love to be positive but we're looking so tired I can't see us going through, mind you I'm a pessimistic old git and crap at betting so hopefully I'm wrong!

We just have to treat Thursday as a cup final. Definitely capable of scoring a couple of goals against this mob, but we’ll need everyone at it. It’s safe to say their fans will be a lot more vocal than we were, but hopefully our fans out there will give it everything, and so will the players. That’s all you can ask for.

Just think how well we have actually done this season with a 3rd rate winger as our main striker

Staggering really

Re: How do you rate our chances in the second leg next week?
I fear our heads will drop and the season will be over if we concede the first goal.
You never know with this team which gives me a bit of cautious hope, but it's feeling more and more like yet another game too far especially with being a goal down.

Not a great chance but there’s always hope.

Re: How do you rate our chances in the second leg next week?
Dawson & Zouma are a formidable pair but just our luck that they haven't played together much lately. Cresswell is the biggest worry and equally we keep giving the ball away in the middle or when attacking which is leaving us vulnerable to counter attacks, Arsenal's corner for their first was a result of this, pretty sure the cross for their second came as a result of not clearing our lines effectively. Too many mistakes , poor final ball, decision making and finishing and a thin leggy squad has cost us a lot of games since the new year.

Cautiously optimistic for Thurs as we seem to play better when the chips are down, but not sure if where the level of intensity & performance needed is going to come now.

Unless we sort out the defence and start creating and scoring - no chance.

So poor at both ends of the pitch.

Frankfurt have already stated they'll be resting the entire first team tmrw.

To answer the original question - about 25-30%

Bookies have us 11-4 to qualify.

Which is about right.

Frankfurt aren’t playing till tomorrow which gives us 24 hours extra rest over them.

I hope this doesn't come back to bite, but I am confident we will score, this team get goals. Its whether we can keep them out that concerns me.

Re: How do you rate our chances in the second leg next week?
Thursday is absolutely no different to the last two rounds we simply need to win the second leg
This team are now at as good as Seville and just like Seville and Lyon with a bit more luck on Thursday we’d of won the first leg
My only concern is our finishing we have such streaky players that seem to go through spells of scoring a few then scoring fuck all
I’d gladly see fornals on the bench Thursday he’s been truly awful for weeks now and by far the worst player on the pitch in both our last two games. Benny although should of done better in a couple of situations really gave the fullback a torrid time and was unlucky not to score when he hit the bar when he came on and deserves a start imo
All in all they are favourites as they are winning and are at home but if we remember to bring our shooting boots and Zouma has more than one leg we are the better team and have every chance of turning it round

With regard to the original question, yes, we will beat them 2-0

Moyes will sort them out, I suspect there will be a few changes !

Re: How do you rate our chances in the second leg next week?
I just hope that the post game comments from Moyes means we are DEFINITELY getting a striker this summer

I still think we will go through… completely confident I think we will do it in 90 mins

Northbankboy68, I said that if the home game had ended in a draw, then we would still have to beat them away, unless the game went to penalties.

Which part of that is “twaddle”?

Can any of you bank on Antonio making a difference on Thursday

I'm on such a downer with him, practices his celebrations more than his finishing

Re: How do you rate our chances in the second leg next week?
I think the first 30 minutes of that game will be the biggest 30 minutes of football in 50 years. Put simply we need to put the ball in the net early on and get into their heads.

Re: How do you rate our chances in the second leg next week?
I do t want to tempt wait but I think we will do it. Go 1 up and they will shit themselves, as would we if the show was in the other foot, we get the goal, we get the momentum and there will be no stopping us

just noticed they're playing leverkusen away on monday, no doubt most will be rested but it shows the german league has similar cunts running it

Re: How do you rate our chances in the second leg next week?
Manuel - Yeah I'm imagining if the boot were on the other foot.. If we were at home and scored first to go two up and they equalised, then all the nerves would kick in, especially as their home form has been poor.

They're obviously favourites, but it's all to play for.
